Jane Egg says she will help co-ordinate things. John, Mihaly, Louanne

the mayor of lbhf to be part of this, but at the moment it is not certain
who the mayor will be at that time.

at the Greenfest.
WESTFIELD CYCLING STRATEGY
The new White city development is developing a cycle strategy. At a meeting
last week John, Simon Franklin, Chris Bainbridge, John Lee, Suzanne Hilton
amongst others pressed for a strong cycling strategy to be developed.
It already has 4,500 car parking spaces. The present intention is to have
parking for 570 cycles around the periphery. Westfield were pressed to
have the parking highly secure, and to have it so that the amount could
be increased if necessary. Routes within the complex and external cycle
routes were discussed. It would be good to develop a cycling overview
for SBG, the common and the roundabout. The CRISP for Uxbridge rd may
be extended to cover this area, but in light of the changing circumstances
it would be good if the SBG CRISP could be revisited as its recommendations
no longer fit with new bus movements.
There is to be a route over
the motorway spur, including a glass fronted lift on the Westfield side
and a ramp on the other side.
KING STREET Cycle track.
Julie pointed out again that the gaps in the new cycle track do not permit
you to turn right into Macbeth street. John will follow up.
FULHAM POLICE BIKE DAY.
PCSO Beverly McFarlane is organising a day to promote careful and safe
cycling, and to encourage cyclists to obey the law and not to mow down
pedestrians. On Thursday 17th MAY from 0800hrs to 1600 hrs. I said we
would have a presence if anyone available. Anyone interested in taking
part? Julie may if she is available.
FINES
David questioned whether police on bikes could fine you for cycling on
the pavement. We pointed out that any policeman, especially the Police
Community Support Officers, could give you a £30 fine. If approached
in this way being demure may be a less expensive option.
EVENING STANDARD CHARTER
For the last week the Evening Standard has been running articles on cycling
including a cycling charter. Louanne had a copy of it. Today it was concerned
with cycle theft. Hopefully the attitude to cycling is changing. Charlie
Lloyd posted details of this recently.
EXPENSES,
John issued with a cheque for £48.67 to cover
April refreshments 14.43
May refreshments £15.45
Website name/hosting charges £18.79
