HFCYCLISTS MEETING,
Tuesday 11 May 2004, 7.30pm in the Info Centre

PRESENT: John Griffiths, Anthony Schailer, Alex Cooper.

APOLOGIES: Paul Alexander, Alex Forrest, Chris Bainbridge, Simon Franklin, Mark Alderton, Louanne Tranchell, Alan Rowden, Angie White.

GENERAL INPUT:

It was good to see two new people, but disappointing that the turn-out from regular members was so low.

We chatted about cycling issues that Anthony and Alex brought up.

Anthony would like a new frame for his bike and was disappointed that Cycick appears to have closed down, at least temporarily.

He would like to see improvements at the Broadway. John explained that improvements, or at least studies, are in the pipeline. However there appears to be little driving force or momentum to get things underway. I do not know whether it is the consultants or the Council who should be driving this.

WEST LONDON GREEN FESTIVAL

In Furnival Gardens, by the river near the Dove pub, and the Blue Anchor, Saturday 19 June 1pm - 5pm. It is good that there is a lot of enthusiasm in the group planning this event. If anyone else wants to be involved in the organisation, or to be involved on the day, please contact John.

RIDES:

We had a ride to Richmond park on Sunday 2 May. We had a picnic accompanied by performances of acrobatic and other skills, or lack thereof. We then went down to Richmond and spent a while by a pub, before coming back along the river. Beverly, John, David, Bernice, Mika and friend came along. It was a lovely day.

Beverly and David will hopefully arrange some rides in the future.

We may have a ride going to the Kingston Green Fair on the May 31 Monday bank holiday. Possibly leaving Furnival Gardens at 1pm. To be confirmed later.

EXPENSES

John had expenses of £11.59 for food and wine, some of which remains in the cellars.

NEXT MEETING

TUESDAY 8 JUNE, 7.30pm in info centre. PLEASE PUT IN DIARY NOW.

IT IS JUST BEFORE BIKE WEEK [12 - 20 June]. AND THE FESTIVAL [19 June.]
